Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Trail Mix Inc. returned the auction to Saturday night’s dinner party.
Mark Pusich, Board Director of Trail Mix, talked about how it felt to invite the community out into the open.
“Tonight is our annual dinner auction. It’s a major fundraising event for the non-profit Trail Mix organization. We’ve been around since 1993 and this year is our 29th year. For the past 2 years we’ve had the COVID and the pandemic, so we’ve all been doing the auction virtually. .
Pusich said it feels good to have Juneau celebrate their trail system.
“Juno, Trail Mix is kind of like the stewards of the trails in Juneau, so it feels great. We want to make sure you’re out there and having fun…because that’s really what the Juneau beats to when you ride the trails…I think we have a world class trail system , and it continues to grow and improve.”
Pusich explained how the live and silent auctions worked.
“We have what we call silent auction items. All these auction items are in the app. I’m in the trail mix auction so individuals can sign up on the app and see and bid on all the items I’ve listed This is kind of like a silent auction Some of the rest are in the desert The auction is live It’s kind of like a dessert auction and some of our generous members donated their cakes that will be auctioned off tonight. There are live auctions with a wide variety of gifts and features. , and events. They’re like Alaska Airlines has two rounds of tickets everywhere.
