The inaugural Football Victoria (FV) Corporate Cup took place on Friday 25th November, with Senor crowned after a dramatic turnaround.
Held at Knox Regional Sports Park, the tournament was a fantastic team building event with teams playing in a round robin group stage followed by the finals. Each team played a minimum of three games, with plenty of opportunities for networking and socializing between games.
FV Social Football Manager Alex Dore said the event was a “very smooth” day.
“Everyone loved it. All the feedback we received was great. It was a relaxed atmosphere and we played well that day,” he said.
“The format of the day, the pitch, the teams and the overall morale of the event was really good and everyone was happy.”
Senor, a naming rights partner and a major proponent of the Victorian Games, defeated Physio Inc. in the day’s final.
Founded 25 years ago as an independent property developer, Senol specializes in providing innovative, high quality residential and commercial real estate solutions within Victoria.
It was a big comeback for the eventual winner, who finished third in the round-robin format, including a 14-4 loss to runners-up Physio Inq.
Following the success of this year’s event, plans are being made to ensure the continuation of the competition in the future.
“The day provided a great opportunity for businesses to gather on the football pitch and network with each other during the holidays, which can help strengthen the wider football community.
“We can’t wait to welcome this year’s entrants and even more teams to the Corporate Cup next year.”
