Photocat A/S (publ) has agreed with Nextera Inc to test Photocat’s Shine-On proprietary product to evaluate its potential for reducing production loss due to fouling. It is generally recognized that contamination can be detrimental to photovoltaic panel (PV) manufacturing. In addition, the cost of cleaning PV panels on-site is becoming more and more expensive. This prompted Nextera to test the benefits of Photocat’s product.
The test will run two years from now. The idea is to investigate whether there is less productivity loss for shineon coated PV panels compared to uncleaned PV panels and freshly cleaned PV panels. Results are measured semi-annually. If the demonstrated results are positive, Nextera looks forward to using this technology in PV parks wherever possible. Nextera is the world’s largest PV park operator and owner.
