Ferry – Freight: Volumes declined in Northern Europe, but Mediterranean volumes continued to increase. The total volume for October 2022 was 9.0% below 2021.
North Sea sales were lower than in 2021 as vehicle production continued to stop due to parts shortages. A labor strike at the port of Felixstowe also reduced shipments. Volume growth in the Mediterranean picked up again in October following a slowdown in the third quarter.
Channel volumes were significantly below 2021 due to continued declines in total market volumes and capacity additions from third-tier ferry operators. Baltic water levels have fallen below 2021 due to the war in Ukraine, but the rate of decline was her lowest recorded in 2022.
In the last 12 months of 2022-2021, total freight lane meters transported decreased by 1.7% to 42.8m from 43.5m in 2021-2020.
Ferry – passenger: Passenger numbers continued to recover, increasing 172% to 332,000 in October 2019, the latest comparison month before the Covid-19 outbreak. Sales in 2019 he reached 85%.
The total number of passengers in the last 12 months in 2022-2021 was 3.5 million compared to 0.8 million in 2021-2020 and 5.1 million in 2019.
