A healthcare and life sciences industry executive, Mr. Florio is passionate about fostering and commercializing healthcare innovations. In his role as SVP, Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and Commercialization, he has worked with his SME Myant Inc. in Canada for his digital health platform and innovative wearables based on textiles his computing™. Technology leads the commercialization of his solutions in the cardiovascular health market. Prior to that, over the course of 16 years, he held several executive positions at BD, advising and mentoring startups in the healthcare industry. Mr. Florio holds his MBA from Queen’s University Smith School of Business and Wilfred He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Laurier University and his ICD.D in Corporate Board of Directors.
Dr. Naimark is co-founder and CTO of Ripple Therapeutics, an Interface Biologics spin-out based on discoveries that fundamentally change the way drugs are delivered sustainably. Prior to returning to Canada, Dr. Naimark led the clinical development of new drug-eluting scaffolds at 480 Biomedical (founders included Dr. Robert Langer, who was at MIT). She began her career in the drug delivery industry with her scientific Boston group that developed TAXUS.® drug-eluting stents. Dr. Naimark received his PhD in biomaterials from the University of Toronto and began his career in regional drug delivery at Caltech as a postdoc. Dr. Naimark is the inventor of his 30+ patents in the regional drug delivery field.
Kurji is the co-founder, president and CEO of Cyclica. Cyclica is a neo-biotechnology that unlocks the protein world to discover the medicines of the future. Kurji is a co-founder and director of EntheogeniX Biosciences, a psychedelic-inspired biotechnology company for mental health, and chair of the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AAIH), Life Sciences I am a member of the Advisory Group. Mr. Woods is Managing Director of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Silicon Valley Bank Canada and has a combined 25 years of experience in both capital markets and life sciences. Her role will enable us to contribute to the growth of the Canadian ecosystem by providing unique access and insight into markets, companies and investors. Ms. Woods holds her Bachelor’s degree from McGill University, her Master’s degree from the University of Guelph and is a CFA credential holder.
