Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said today that her government wants to build a forward-looking and prosperous country, infused with modern and technological knowledge.
She said while inaugurating the newly constructed Rangpur Division Headquarters building.
The program was held in the building’s multi-purpose hall and the Prime Minister participated online from Gono Babang in the official residence.
She said the country has made progress over the past 12 years due to the government’s pragmatic and timely steps.
“We must go further. We want to build a Bangladesh free of hunger and poverty, the dream of Father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman … Our aim is to make this country no longer “ Don’t experience “monga” or famine. People never face suffering,” she said.
“Rural people will live in villages and have access to all facilities in urban areas. It will create employment opportunities in villages so people will not have to rush to the capital,” she said.
She called on everyone involved to ensure that the development program was properly implemented.
Sheikh Hasina said the government is setting up 100 economic zones across the country to meet domestic demand and boost industrialization to boost exports.
She also asked industry owners to set up agricultural processing plants, taking into account the crops grown in their respective areas.
She also said the government is setting up testing laboratories required for food exports and gradually all departmental headquarters will be able to acquire such testing laboratories from which they can send their products directly. .
“Our goal is to make Bangladesh developed and prosperous by 2041,” she said.
Speaking about the impressive development of Rampur Division over the past 12 years, the Prime Minister said the government has implemented numerous development programs for the Division.
“By the grace of Allah, we saw no ‘monga’ or famine in the region after the AL came to power,” she said.
She also said that Rangpur area is now a food surplus area and job opportunities are being created for people.
Chief Executive KM Ali Azam and Rangpur District Commissioner M Abdul Wahab Bhuiyan also spoke at the programme.
