Burlington County Commissioner Dan O’Connell was recognized by the Burlington County Military Commission (BCMAC) for his leadership and steadfast support to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and the county’s military personnel and their families.
O’Connell accepted BCMAC’s Edward Kelly Government Leadership Award at last week’s BCMAC holiday luncheon. The award, named after the late Burlington County Clerk, recognizes a government leader who has demonstrated exemplary service and support for his BCMAC and its mission to improve the lives of military personnel stationed at Joint Base. .
BCMAC was established by the Burlington County Commissioner in 1987 to serve as a liaison between the Joint Base Commander and county officials and town community leaders. This non-profit organization seeks to promote mutual understanding of joint bases and their importance, and to welcome and support military families living in the county.
