MLC Life Insurance (MLCL) announced the appointment of Catherine Dubé to the Board of Directors of MLC Limited as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Additionally, as part of an upcoming Board renewal, Mr. Dube will succeed Sandra Birkensley as Chairman of the Board’s Audit Committee.
Commenting on Mr. Birkensley’s 10-year tenure, MLCL Chairman Peter Gray said, “We have transformed our business through significant changes, including the acquisition of MLCL by Nippon Life Insurance and the transformation necessary to become an independent life insurance company. She played an important role in guiding us,” he thanked her.
“Sandra leaves MLCL well positioned for future success.”
Mr. Dube joins MLCL with over 25 years of business experience in the financial services sector and currently serves as a non-executive director of Guild Group Holding and Guild Insurance Limited and chair of the Guild Group Audit and Risk Committee.
In addition, he is a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committees of Assetinsure and Challenger Retirement and Investment Services, and a member of the ACT Public Trustee and Guardian Investment Committees.

Mr. Dube was AIG’s Chief Risk Officer from 2012 to 2019 and a qualified actuary.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Montreal and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and an alumnus of the Australian Association of Corporate Directors.
