On October 19, 2022, Generac announced preliminary earnings showing dismal financial results for the third quarter of 2022, citing distributors who had filed for bankruptcy to cut back on warranties and costs of clean energy products. Announced a related pre-tax charge of $55 million. The news caused Generac’s stock price to fall by $37.44 (approximately 25.34%) from his $147.74 per share to close at $110.30 on October 19, 2022.
On November 2, 2022, Generac announced its third quarter earnings, lowering its guidance for revenue from its solar energy business for the remainder of the year by approximately 40%. The news caused Generac’s stock price to drop by $8.99 (approximately 7.84%) from his $114.70 per share to close at $105.71 on November 2, 2022.
The lawsuit alleges that throughout the class, defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose: (ii) Defendant’s failure to seek increased warranty liability after learning of her SnapRS defect; (iii) misrepresenting or concealing the company’s guarantee obligations and falsely assuring investors that the company’s financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles;
