Research Triangle Park – Pharmaceutical giant GSK announced today that it will move its headquarters to downtown London.
“Our new headquarters represents an important next step for GSK,” said CEO Emma Walmsley in the announcement.
“As a global biopharmaceutical company, we are proud to call London our home and look forward to the opportunity to work even more closely with London’s world-class scientific, academic and medical institutions. It provides an exciting new focus for GSK employees to meet, collaborate and ultimately deliver solutions to the most pressing healthcare challenges facing the world.”
GSK operates a manufacturing plant and has other staff based at RTP.

GSK has described the move as providing “proximity to the UK capital’s rapidly growing global life sciences hubs, knowledge quarters and world-class academic institutions.”
It will also help “GSK achieve its ambitious sustainability goals,” the company added.
The building, which will house approximately 3,000 employees, is scheduled to move in in 2024 and is already under construction.
Our current headquarters are in Brentford, West London. The site has already been sold, he notes, GSK.
The site will also house ViiV Healthcare, which has extensive operations in the Triangle.
