OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Firefighters were working to put out a small wildfire in North County on Friday, officials said.
The fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. Friday at Block 4000 on Oceanside Boulevard, just off Corporate Center Drive. oceanside police station.
The fire was extinguished and the advance stopped around 2:15 p.m., officials said.
As of 1 p.m., an OPD spokesperson said the fire was about 1 acre.
OPD said on Twitter that businesses on Block 4000 of Oceanside Boulevard were asked to evacuate as a precaution.Businesses were then allowed to reopen
Eastbound Oceanside Boulevard is closed at Rancho Del Oro, and police are asking drivers to avoid the area while crews fight the fire.
