The UK electronics industry was in full force last night at the TechWorks Awards 2022 in London to celebrate the country’s best semiconductor and deep tech companies.
While last week’s government selection committee report highlighted the fragmented nature of the UK’s semiconductor industry, TechWorks’ annual awards showcase the country’s excellence, celebrate achievements and strengthen the network. . Prominent figures from successful British technology companies were also present, including TechWorks Chairman Sir Hossein Yasaye and Director Stan Boland.
The Industry Contribution Award went to Sean Redmond of Silicon Catalyst. He pointed to a landmark announcement by the incubator this week with his Mayfield fund to invest his $150,000 in eligible startups (see article here).
TechWorks is the core trade association of the UK’s deep tech community, aiming to leverage the country’s engineering and innovation to position itself in the global technology ecosystem.

Winners include the NMI Manufacturing Site of the Year Award for Clas-SiC, this year’s TechWorks Deep Tech Award for PragmatIC, and the Young Engineer of the Year Award for Irlomi Omotadeh. Ensilica.
