NEW YORK, NY, United States, Dec. 9, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Corporate Counsel for People of Color (CCWC) can announce the names of the 2022-2023 My Life as a Lawyer Scholarship winners I’m proud of you. These most deserving law students of color demonstrate excellence in education combined with a spirit of giving back to underserved communities. Their hard work puts them on a path that will positively change the landscape of the legal profession. Scholarship winners will be recognized at CCWC’s 19th Annual Career Strategy Conference September 27-30, 2023 at the National Harbor Gaylord Resort and Convention Center in Oxon Hill, Maryland (near Washington, DC) It is done.
According to an American Bar Association article, “Black lawyers are grossly underrepresented and underrepresented in the legal profession and are still likely to be affected by prejudice, both consciously and unconsciously, throughout their careers.”
Laurie N. Robinson Hayden, winner of the Business Woman of Influence Award, is the founder of CCWC. This organization of women lawyers of color promotes the advancement and career success of women lawyers of color and advocates for all aspects of global diversity in the legal workplace and profession. . For nearly two decades, CCWC has shown continuous growth from her 10 groups worldwide to her 4,700 members. They are all working to develop initiatives to improve educational and employment choices for diverse individuals in the legal profession.
Through the My Life as a Lawyer Scholarship, CCWC aims to encourage future lawyers by contributing financially to their success. Over the past 15 years, CCWC has awarded her over $300,000 in scholarships through the My Life As A Lawyer program. A distinguished panel of corporate and private law attorneys selected the winners.
