The Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Dr. Danh Pham (DMA), will present its 2022 Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 3 at 7:00 PM at the Schuler Performing Arts Center on the North Idaho College Campus. , Dr. Pham The Symphony Orchestra will proudly present a hilarious musical experience for all participants.
“Holiday concerts are our favorite, because they are events that make us really happy,” Pham said. Holiday music puts a smile on everyone’s face. It’s a night full of smiles! ”
Symphony Board member Lora Whalen explains that the concert will feature the Christmas overture “The Nutcracker” and Disney’s “Frozen”.
The Nutcracker, written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1892, was his last and most famous ballet. It has become synonymous with the holiday season. Unfolding on Christmas Eve, the story focuses on a little girl who receives her favorite toy, the Nutcracker, and goes to Candyland.
Frozen, a 2013 computer-animated musical about the young princess of the fictional Scandinavian kingdom of Arendelle, is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s 1844 fairy tale The Snow Queen.
Attendees can also hear Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” written in the heat of July 1946.
This is Dr. Pham’s first season at CSO, and he has degrees from DePauw University, Indiana University, and the University of Oklahoma. He conducts the Symphony Orchestra at Washington State University, teaches Instrumental Conducting and Symphonic Literature, and is also the Director of the Band. In addition to all this, he is also the Music Director of the Washington-Idaho Symphony Orchestra.
Whalen will provide invitations on behalf of the orchestra board, directors, musicians and donors. All come and enjoy what she says is a wonderful holiday night experience.
