Gregor Riekena, the company’s current MD, who will become the fifth CEO in Häfele’s history and the second CEO outside the family of the Häfele Group.
The Häfele Group has announced a new CEO as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Sibylle Thierer spent 20 years leading Germany-based manufacturers and distributors of furniture fittings, building hardware, electronic access control systems and LED lighting.
She will now hand over the role to the company’s current MD, Gregor Riekena.
Thierer is a proponent of hardware and fitting systems, renowned in the industry for its ability to bring furniture to life.
Additionally, tealers have long touted the importance of light in furniture and rooms. As a result, Häfele developed his Loox and Nimbus product lines. Both of these products continue to inspire the industry with their innovation and capabilities.
Thierer will continue to chair the Board and will be integral to the Group’s future decision-making. The transition to Reikena will be completed by January 1, 2023.
Reikena joined Häfele in 2011 as Head of Marketing and assumed the role of Chief Marketing Officer in 2015, intensively supporting the company at national and international levels. He has overseen the Häfele Group’s brand strategy and the development of its global e-commerce platform. He is currently spearheading the Corporate Strategy 2030 project, which prepares Häfele to become a business of the next century.
