Kathy Caton has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Gin Guild.
The Gin Guild was founded in 2012 by The Worshipful Company of Distillers, one of London’s traditional livery companies, and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1638.
In her new role, Cathy will encourage smaller distilleries to join the Gin Guild and join the ranks of UK artisan producers.
Kathy said. “As someone who makes the finest products with love and care, I am delighted to be associated with an organization that champions quality and stands for gin.
The Gin Guild works to create more opportunities for people in the gin industry. According to the Guild, it works to “protect, promote and revitalize the distillation of quality London gin in the UK and around the world.”
“Some of our smaller distilleries may not realize that the Gin Guild is for them, but it’s quite the opposite. Christopher Hayman of Hayman’s Gin and Bombay Sapphire’s Dr. Anne Brock to name just two absolute giants of the beverage industry,” said Kathy.
“The team is great, but we want to bring a different perspective, attract a lot of smaller members of the distilling community, and spread the word about the guild.”
Gin Guild President Christopher Heyman said:
“I am confident that she will bring her enthusiasm, extensive experience and knowledge of distilling to support the work of the Guild, its members and the vast number of craft distilleries around the world.”
Pal Greed, Executive Director of the Jin Guild, said: She is incredibly talented and brings her trademark wit, humor and her knowledge to make the Guild’s work stand out. ”
