BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli on Monday explained the party’s manifesto on the November 12 Himachal Pradesh poll as a governance agenda.
The manifesto, he said, reflects “our intentions on governance.”
“The feedback we’ve received since the release of the party manifesto has been positive,” Kohli said at a press conference here.
While unveiling the BJP’s manifesto here on Sunday, party leader JP Nadda said the United Civil Code (UCC), a 33% reservation for women in government jobs and educational institutions, and sops in various segments of the state. promised
“Our manifesto is not a piece of paper, it is our agenda on governance. These are not our promises, but our intentions on governance,” Kohli said.
He further said that the BJP produced the manifesto after adequate feedback and thorough research from various sections of society.
It reflects society’s expectations and aspirations, he said, adding that the BJP promises and it delivers.
Kohli also highlighted the “Stree Sankalp Patra,” part of a manifesto focused on women’s empowerment and women-led development in the state. “We are committed to women’s empowerment,” he said.
A 33% reserve will be given to women in government jobs and state educational institutions, Cori said.
“There’s a big difference between empowerment and attractiveness,” she said when asked if an announcement to give women a scooty in higher education was a populist move.
“The BJP believes these announcements are for women’s empowerment, not glamour,” Kohli added.
Targeting Congress, he claimed it was making false promises to the people, but the people were determined to put the BJP back in power.
“They’re just trying to mislead people,” Kohli said of Congress’ opposition to the Agnipas plan.
