Dairy cooperative Arla has announced that December milk prices for conventional and organic milk will remain unchanged.
This means that UK manufacturing prices for conventional and organic milk remain at 52.24ppl and 57.02ppl respectively.
Arthur Fearnall, Director of the Arla Foods amba Board of Directors, said global milk supply levels remained stable and levels were rising in Europe.
“Global dairy prices, including yellow cheese and butter, have fallen from previous highs in October,” he said.
“The outlook is negative due to continued declines in commodity prices.”
Arla UK agriculture director Paul Savage added that the past year has presented farmers with inflation challenges.
“[We] has worked hard throughout the year to significantly increase the price of both conventional and organic farm milk.
“We are closely monitoring the decline in global commodity prices and, as a cooperative enterprise, we remain committed to adding maximum value to the milk that farm owners work so hard to produce.”
This comes after First Milk announced that it would not change its milk prices from January 1, 2023.
