The political group, Young Presidential Candidates Across Party Lines, calls for the active engagement and participation of young people in governance in 2023.
The group’s leader and spokesman, Dr. Nicholas Felix, made the call on Wednesday during the group’s meeting in Abuja.
“Another political dispensation is on the horizon and our goal is to ensure that young, vibrant and forward-thinking Nigerians make up the bulk of the next government.
“There are 87 days until the 2023 presidential election that many of us here have hoped to contest,” Felix said.
However, he said the group was not formed to rebel against or abuse the current government, but to support it and promote good governance.
“So all we are telling our political leaders is to involve young people not only during elections but also after polls.”
According to him, only young people’s inclusiveness matters and if young people are given the chance to become governors, ministers, heads of institutions, parliamentarians, etc., the situation will turn around.
Felix therefore commanded young people to do their part by contributing to and supporting nation-building. (NAN) (www.nanews.ng)
